Dear Missions Partner,

First, we want to thank you so much for your support. We cannot express in words how much your participation in our lives means to us as we seek to serve God through being sent on missions.

It is with heavy hearts that we must report to you, out of our responsibility to you as our partner, a change in our situation. Below is a letter explaining the update; please read it and join us in prayer. Please pause and proceed to read that letter now before continuing.

We understand this is sudden, and we know we would wish it were any other way. We know this is not a surprise to God, and that His plan is greater than ours.

We want to commit this to you now; we are not giving up on being sent as missionaries. We will be taking stock, praying diligently, and seeking opportunities to glorify God by using the ways He has made us to serve Him as missionaries. We can commit to you that we are already praying over next steps and potential opportunities, which we hope to share with you in the near future as appropriate.

As for the funding we have raised, know that we have protected it and are stewarding it well. Nothing undue has happened to it. It is being held in trust at a partnering church 501 (c) (3); the charitable contribution is preserved. First, we ask that you stop giving to White Horse Missions on our behalf at this time. Second, if you have supported us financially, we ask that you prayerfully consider continuing to partner with us in the near future. All the missionary opportunities we are presently praying through all still involve fundraising in some capacity. But if you would like the money you have given to be used differently, please reach out to us as soon as you are able. We will respect your choice regardless.

Thank you for your partnership with us. We do not see this as the end of the road, just a speed bump. We are still going on missions and still trusting God. Please continue to partner with us in prayer as we seek what’s next.

With love,

Gideon, Emma, and Laurence Owens

Hey guys, sorry for the late blog post this month. We always try and be real and transparent with you guys, our most direct supporters, so to be honest it has been a whirlwind of a month so far. So much so that we somehow forgot to put out our monthly blogpost like we do at the first of the month. Still, God preserves and provides for us!

Firstly, we have both changed jobs recently. The stress of change is heavy, but we both praise God for the better opportunities our new jobs provide. Especially with our little son on the way. Gideon is sharing the gospel with his new co-workers and seeing God moving already. Emma is able to transition to a more stable working environment as she enters the final stages of her pregnancy and as she enters into being a parent with Gideon. All of this change has been an answer to prayer, but has also stretched us immensely. We thank God for his provision, yet also still ask for your prayers in this time of change for us.

Beyond that, we also moved! Very suddenly! That has also been a lot for us while also both changing jobs and preparing for baby Owens. We were no planning on moving to be honest, but God provided in our time of need. Still, your prayers are appreciated as we try and settle into our new home.

We also want to thank all those who have donated not just with their time in prayer but also financially. To be frank, the most recent months have been difficult as we have not raised much funding or been able to successfully reach any new donors or sources of support. We trust God to provide for our future steps as we seek to enter Central America with White Horse Missions. We continue to appreciate your support, and ask you to continue your support and help us reach others who are missional minded and looking to financially support missionaries like us.

As the new year approaches, we look forward to the new addition to our family with baby Owens. We also look forward to continuing to reach out to churches and individuals to partner alongside us in prayer and finance. If you or someone you know meets that description of a missional minded prayerful giver, please consider sharing our website or newsletter. Or, feel free to reach out and give us their contact information and we would be happy to connect with them directly.

Thank you all and have a blessed month!

-Gideon and Emma
