Dear Missions Partner,

First, we want to thank you so much for your support. We cannot express in words how much your participation in our lives means to us as we seek to serve God through being sent on missions.

It is with heavy hearts that we must report to you, out of our responsibility to you as our partner, a change in our situation. Below is a letter explaining the update; please read it and join us in prayer. Please pause and proceed to read that letter now before continuing.

We understand this is sudden, and we know we would wish it were any other way. We know this is not a surprise to God, and that His plan is greater than ours.

We want to commit this to you now; we are not giving up on being sent as missionaries. We will be taking stock, praying diligently, and seeking opportunities to glorify God by using the ways He has made us to serve Him as missionaries. We can commit to you that we are already praying over next steps and potential opportunities, which we hope to share with you in the near future as appropriate.

As for the funding we have raised, know that we have protected it and are stewarding it well. Nothing undue has happened to it. It is being held in trust at a partnering church 501 (c) (3); the charitable contribution is preserved. First, we ask that you stop giving to White Horse Missions on our behalf at this time. Second, if you have supported us financially, we ask that you prayerfully consider continuing to partner with us in the near future. All the missionary opportunities we are presently praying through all still involve fundraising in some capacity. But if you would like the money you have given to be used differently, please reach out to us as soon as you are able. We will respect your choice regardless.

Thank you for your partnership with us. We do not see this as the end of the road, just a speed bump. We are still going on missions and still trusting God. Please continue to partner with us in prayer as we seek what’s next.

With love,

Gideon, Emma, and Laurence Owens

Greetings everyone. I hope this message finds you well. A lot has happened since the last newsletter, and we have a lot of exciting news to share.

Firstly, the trip to Honduras in May went excellently. I was not without an adventure or two, but overall the information gathered was helpful and exciting. We got to visit the language school and talk with its director about next steps. We also got penciled in for a date for next year, though it still not finalized yet.

We also got to see some potential places we could be living next year, and that was also exciting. We were even able to go to some supermarkets of varying sizes to price out averages for common items and food. The trip was exceptionally helpful in helping us visualize the next steps we are taking to prepare for next year. While an exact leave date is still being finalized, we grow closer and closer to that finalization each week.

Another praise is that we have began our visa process and it is still going very well. It is such a blessing to have this process going the way it is, and we thank God for His provision.

Please be praying for us as we seek to enter into this month with the goal of working with White Horse Missions to coordinate the final details as we seek to put a date on the calendar and a final plan into action for next year. A few key aspects are still waiting on God's timing. Pray for patience and wisdom for us in the present.

Thank you for continuing to join us in prayer this month. It is a blessing to have you be apart of this.

Thanks,

Gideon and Emma
